Brunch for Thanks

Hello Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter!  I know I had a nice time with family ^_^  I have some fun new cards to share with you.  First I am in charge of a thank you brunch for some people from church for their service.  So I decided to make some fun thank you/invitation cards for everyone so they would know how much I appreciate them!  I think they will like their cards.  I used a sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch (#6)

I had a fun time making these cards even though I made several!  Time just slips away from me while I'm crafting. :)  I have a few more things to show you yet.  Here is a layout I did for my scrapbook.  I am craving the return of summer so I thought I'd indulge by creating a page from a picture I took during the summer time!

I used paper from DCWV's "The Green Stack" as well as some purple card-stock (I don't know the brand) and some red Studio G glitter glue.  I also used Martha Stewart black ink and an edge punch (also by Martha Stewart).

Next up is a birthday card I made for my father-in-law. I love the red, brown, and teal blue color scheme.  It was fun to make!  I love trying new color schemes and layouts.  It is a great way to get my creativity going!

For this card I used more from "The Green Stack" as well as some Black Magic Core'dination cardstock.  I used some colorbok adhesive dots and some ink by Color Box.  I also used more red Studio G glitter glue.

I love this time of year when everything is turning green and coming to life outside.  I love the flowers that are beginning to grow and the leaves budding on the trees.  I love the warming weather and I am anxiously looking forward to the end of the cold!  I hope you are enjoying the changing seasons and I hope you are finding time to do the things you love! (Crafting anyone?!)

Till next time, take care and enjoy life!

Imagine

So I have another new card for you today, yay!  I am having so much fun designing! ^_^ The card I made is titled imagine which I think fits in well with my whole theme for life right now.  My mind is exploding with ideas I am imagining and I desperately trying to find both the time and resources to turn my imaginings into reality!  With spring finally starting to feel like it is well and truly here to stay, I am anxious to dust of the dreariness of winter and  create!

I hope you like the card!  Please bear with me as I am still trying to figure out the best way to photograph my work but I am getting it figured out!  I thought I'd share a pic of some soda bread with currents that my hubby and I made on St. Patrick's Day. It turned out so pretty I just have to share!  (Too bad I can't share a slice of it with you as well - it was soooo yummy!)

Sorry if that got your tummy rumbling!  If you haven't tried making homemade soda bread before you should really give it a go!  The dough is REALLY sticky but it turns out delicious.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my blog!  Of course, if you like what you see please follow and I will keep it coming!

A Mojo Easter

Here is my Mojo Monday card for this week from sketch 232.   This was a fun card to make!  I used a stamp I received as a gift several years ago when I was pregnant with my twin girls. It is from a baby themed 2003 Stampin' Up collection.  I am so glad I have finally gotten around to using my crafting things!  I have always love to do anything artistic but until recently have only just dabbled on occasion.

The supplies I used include patterned paper from DCWV Fresh Floral Stack. The silver embellishment in the flower is from Colorbok. I used some silver Studio G glitter glue and the pink (stitched) grosgrain ribbon is by Offray (Microspool).  The cardstock I've had quite awhile and no longer know the name.  I used markers by Chartpak and Prisma color to color the bunny.

Thanks for viewing my blog! I hope you enjoy my card and can glean some inspiration for your own crafting!

True Love and Thanks

It has been a time of weddings here in my family!  My little sister got married just 2 weeks ago.  I have been busy traveling and recouping from all the excitement!  I am so happy for her and her new hubby! ^_^

I have not been completely away from my crafting though!  So, here I am to share some of my latest work.  First of all, here is a quick, easy thank you card made with my sizzix texture boutique and sizzix thank you themed embossing folders.  Also, I used some black-magic core-dinations cardstock which I sanded after embossing.  It literally only took me about 5 minutes start to finish!

I used some ink on the flower to make the embossing stand out and some double sided foam adhesive to give the flower some dimension.  So fun and cute! ^_^

As I mentioned before, it has been a time of weddings in my family.  My cousin is getting married this weekend.  She and her hubby to be are so bright and happy. (They are even having little rubber ducks at their reception as part of their decor!) So here is the card I made with her in mind...

I used the Mojo Monday sketch (#231) for this card.  I love how bright and happy it turned out!  I think she will like it.  If you like what you are seeing please follow and I will keep posting!

Catching up

So I've decided it is time to get caught up with the projects I have made recently that I have yet to post.  I am too new at this blog to be getting behind already!  I am just itchy to be making new projects all the time.  However, I am a SAHM of 3 adorable little ones that keep me busy during the day.  I have twin girls who are 5 and a 2 year old boy who means to live up to the definition of terrible twos.  He is so curious and wanted to be discovering everything all the time.  But unfortunately that also means I have to wait until he is either sleeping or heavily occupied with something elsewhere before I can scrap.  Somehow though, I still seem to manage! So without further ado, here is what I have been working on!

First up, I made another explosion box!  Yay.  This is the lid I made.  I just love that little silvery flower.  For it, I glued some tinfoil to some black card-stock and then ran it through a sizzix embossing folder, then cut it out with another black card-stock flower beneath to make it really stand out!

Here is a side view of the box. The inside of the box was fairly basic (I don't have a very good picture of it and I already gave it away) but I designed it as a mini photo-album with room for the recipient to add a few more photos of her own!  It was fun to make!

Next up, I decided it was high time I made a page from the day my little guy had his baby blessing.  Isn't he just adorable!  This little guy is my two-year-old trouble making cutie, and I love him to bits!

Here is a layout I made with the weekly layout challenge from Let's Scrap.  It even is one of their featured designs for the week, yay!

Finally, I've made a few cards for weddings. I really love the red, black and white color combination.  It is a personal favorite of mine!

This last one I made using a design layout I found...but I don't remember where from at the moment, sorry! If anyone knows, please feel free to mention in the comments and I'll add it. I am just starting to build a collection of supplies and I love it.

That's it for my latest projects. I just bought a few stamps recently that were fun to put to use on those wedding cards.  Aren't new supplies great?!  And, I have a whole bunch of awesome card stock on the way and my first Tim Holtz distress ink pad that is supposed to show up today along with a sanding block.  I am excited to start my next round of projects with all my fun new things.  Follow me to see what I come up with!  Thanks, Morgan.

My first explosion box

So I have been sick these past few days, yuck!  Who wants to be sick on Valentine's day?!  Not me!  So since I was unable to do anything fun and creative for the holiday, I thought I'd share some pics of some projects I did recently.  I am still a bit of a newbie, honing my style and technique (not to mention still gathering a stash of standard supplies-though it's coming along), but I hope you like what you see!

Here is my very first attempt at an explosion box.  I think it came out pretty though I always seem to want to do more and more to every project I finish to make it that much better.
Here it is all closed up, next time I'll do more decorations on the exterior.  I really wanted to and some sort of scalloped border to the lid but alas, it didn't happen this time.

I wish I had used a softer orange (but I didn't have available to me at the time) for the accent color on the interior. But for a first try I think I did pretty well and I am getting better every day!  Let me know your thoughts and ideas!  Thanks! ~Morgan
